The new organisation will operate using a single management board and work to deliver truly international standards that will support streamlined, automated business processes throughout the entire real estate industry globally. The development of electronic standards across the real estate industry is a monumental effort that is presently funded by its valued Executive, Associate, and Small Business memberships.
Stephen Spooner, Executive Chair at PISCES comments: “Both PISCES and OSCRE recognised that standards in real estate have to be as global as businesses in real estate. Those businesses need to know that any investment they make into using standards will not be wasted. The unequivocal message from our membership is that the only way forward is to go global. It is our responsibility and role to represent them, delivering what they need in order to create a smooth path along which they can progress.”
Real estate owners, operators and shareholders, public agencies, internal real estate departments, service providers, consulting firms, systems and software developers, vendors, suppliers and manufacturers can now be confident that data exchange standards are now being developed using a global perspective. Even if they are not international organisations themselves it is highly likely that their clients are. The OSCRE Standards and the data communication processes they support are no longer just a technology issue; IT is now strategic to the success of any leading organization.
Julie Barry, Head of Stakeholder Management at Land Registry believes that: “the survival of open standards for data exchange is more certain as a consequence of the merger between PISCES and OSCRE Americas; many industries will see lasting and real business benefit from this encouraging news. Land Registry has recently launched its Business Gateway re-mortgage service which relies on a PISCES compliant schema and following this announcement can confirm that future new electronic services will now also be developed using open industry standards.”
Bruce Kellogg, Senior VP Industry Relations, ARGUS Software and Chair of OSCRE Americas said: “This significant event will now create more ways to enhance the efficiency of all we do within real estate. As the only international data standards body covering the whole real estate sector, our vision is to help fulfill the goals of all companies and associations to save time, money and other resources across every aspect of their business. The time has indeed come to recognize what we had individually been accomplishing for a decade, and to bring these accomplishments to a new level that will serve our members and the entire real estate industry even better in the future.”
